Texans Wear Red

Today in Preschool, Isaac was playing with his friend Mary in the Dramatic Play area. They were pretending to be builders/consruction workers. They had hard hats and tool belts and were going to put on some work aprons. There were two choices:red aprons or white aprons. Isaac said to Mary, "Okay Mary, if you want to be a Texan, you have to wear the red one. If you want to be just a normal person, you have to wear the white one." Isaac put on a red apron and went to work!

SHARKS

Isaac has been working very hard on his "shark project" for his preschool class. Today, I went into his class with him to help him present it and teach all his friends about sharks. I think you would truly be in awe of his knowledge regarding these creatures- he is endlessly fascinated by them and his knowledge grows with age. He was really quite the instructor!

Giving Our Toys Away

Well, yesterday Isaac told me that he was bored. I have never heard him say this at home before so I was a bit taken aback. I said, "Well, you have lots of toys to play with- why don't you play with your new train set?" And Isaac replied, "I don't want to..." with quite the attitude in his tone. So I said, "Well maybe we need to think about giving some of your toys away. I know lots of little boys who don't have any toys. I bet they would really love to have some toys. And you are so bored with yours, maybe we should just give them away." Of course, Isaac started freaking out:"No, Mommy! I want my train!" In the meantime, Daphne had run upstairs and I followed to see what she was doing. This is a picture of how I found her. She said, " I'm getting my princess dolls to give to the little boys with no toys. They need princess dollies, I want to give them my dollies." She was so concerned about the little boys who have no toys!

Granny Great and Fingernails

Matt's grandmother (Marsha's Mom) has been staying with Matt's parents temporarily. Isaac and Daphne were so excited to have their Great Grandma "Granny Great" there to visit. Daphne stayed in her lap for quite a while and loved her.
Tonight we were saying our family prayer. Daphne was sitting on my lap and she was saying the prayer. She was going through her usual routine of thanking God for anything she could see. Then she said, "Thank you for Great Grandma, that she will be healthy." Which was really sweet, because her Great Grandma just moved in to her Nanny's house, so she just saw her on Sunday. Then, she said, "Thank you for our fingernails, that they will get chewed." I burst out laughing- I just couldn't help it!
We are constantly asking Daphne to stop chewing her fingernails, and here she is asking for divine intervention so that she can keep her bad habit.

Art Show

Weber State University's Children's School (where the children attend and I teach) held an Art Show as a fundraiser at the end of February. Each class sang songs and parents and family were able to purchase the children's art in order to benefit our school. The event was quite a success and the children LOVED seeing their art displayed in a real gallery. Here are some pics of Daphne performing with her class and of Isaac displaying his art work.

February Snow Day

These pics were taken in mid-February on a great Snow Day. It was Saturday morning, so we were able to all play together in the snow. This is our Snow man, who was taller than Daddy (Matt is 6'6", by the way). We all had a great time!

Our Fish Family

Well, this morning Isaac and Daphne were playing together and Daphne said, "I love you, Isaac." , and gave her brother a hug. Isaac returned her affections and said, "Mommy, I love Daphne and she loves me. But specially, we love you and specially we love Daddy. Yeah. Cause we are a family and we all love eachother. Yeah. Like a school of Fish." :)

Two Year Old Princess

This is Daphne in February- sometimes she's an angel, sometimes she's, well, NOT. But anytime, we love her! Daphne LOVES to dress up- mostly she likes to try on different kinds of shoes.... hmmmm.... I have no idea where she could have gotten that interest! :) She is finally calling herself "Daphne" insted of "Daffy". Today, her favorite toy is Strawberry Shortcake- an affintiy which will undoubtedly change in a couple of hours.

Brother and Sister

Here are my sweeties- this is February 11th, one day after Isaac turned 5! They are all dressed up for Church and look like they always love eachother! :) Truth is, one minute they are fighting at each others' throats and the next minute they are hugging and laughing.

GiGi's Visit January 2007

GiGi was able to come visit in January- we got a huge snowstorm the day after she came. They threw snow balls and made snow angels while I shoveled the driveway. They loved having GiGi here and she spoiled them every minute!

this was our Christmas Card picture. Matt's sister, Raegan, was so sweet and took tons of pictures for us. We really wanted a snowy picture, but it was November 2006, and the snow melted the day before. Anyway- this is my first post, so let's see how it goes!
