Ten in The Bed and The Little One Said, "Roll Over!"

Victoria rolled over for the first time yesterday! We were all at her Nanny's house watching Calvin's birthday video, and she flopped right over from back to tummy! We were so excited...Today she repeated the skill but went tummy to back. I tried to get some video of her achievement, but these pictures were the best I could get!

Here she is, very proud of herself! I have to say that we reach these milestones with a measure of bittersweetness... I was so anxious for Isaac to reach each milestone... I wanted to watch him grow and couldn't wait for the next day! I was content for Daphne to reach them at her own little pace and With Victoria, we feel fairly certain that she is our caboose; so her milestones always come a little more quickly than I would like. She weighs almost 18 lbs and is still sleeping in the cradle in our room- I'm just not ready to move her across the hall. I am so grateful for each of these three miracles in my life. And although I hold on a little tighter and linger a little longer, We are still very enthusiastic and grateful for every day that we are blessed to greet!

Wisdom Teeth & Strep Throat

So, this has not been the most fun weekend of our lives, but we are glad we made it through. Matt got his wisdom teeth out on Friday (finally) without the anesthesia. He only had local anesthetic as opposed to the heavy duty stuff, so he felt all the pressure and cracking, etc.. I really was just waiting for him to get a migraine from the whole ordeal, and he certainly got one last night. Actually two, to be exact. Poor Matt. As if the pain from the wisdom teeth weren't enough, I'm sure the excruciating headache and vomiting filled his pain quota for the year.
Isaac came down with strep throat on Sunday night and has been pretty miserable. Daphne is just Daphne, but that is actually more difficult than if she were sick. Daphne has this way of actually being nicer when she is sick. It is as though she doesn't have the energy to be herself. Anyhow, I digress... So here are a few pics and cute quotes from our sick weekend!
I told Isaac to make his best " I have strep throat face" here. He was so pitiful. He wouldn't even walk to the car so that we could go to the dr. The one bright spot in his day was playing Lego Star Wars on the playstation with his dad. He was totally distracted from the pain. He was trying to get the game ready while Matt was getting something cold and smooth to eat and he called up, "Dad, Is it okay if I touch your controller?" He was trying to be so careful not to get anyone else sick!

So, Daphne and I were cuddling on the couch and she said,
"I love you to all of the stars and all of the planets and all of the spaces and down to the ocean and back up to all of the angels and to Jesus." I said, "Wow- that's really far." And Daphne replied, "I love you even further than that. I love you to Canada!"
Here they are enjoying some yummy powdered donuts:
I got Matt some yummy tomato soup to eat during his recuperation. Yesterday, I warmed some up for Daphne and she was exclaiming over how delicious it was. I left to get Isaac's prescription and when I returned, she said, "Mom, I have to tell you somethin'. I don't like the soup."
"But you were just saying how delicious is was."
"Well, I changed my mind."
"You changed you mind?"
"I changed my mind! Don't you ever change your mind, Like you are the queen of the world or somethin'?"

I Vote for Halloween!

Okay, so I am just late posting Halloween pics, but it is election day and our whole family headed to the polls at 7:00 am (okay, 7:15) this morning to complete our civic duties! The kids were really excited and then they got distracted by the elementary school stage and started performing for all the early bird voters. I did get to vote there at the elementary school, but Matthew had to go vote at another location since he was still registered under an old address. "Which address?" you might ask since we have moved 6 times in our eight years of marriage. HIS PARENTS' address. Yes, he is still registered to vote under his parent's address, which is fortunate since that is the address on his driver's license. So, after I voted, Daphne and I had to run off to school so Matt, Isaac and Victoria ran around our town trying to find the right voting location, which he did and he did vote. I'm so proud that he didn't just give up! It would be easy to give up since our votes don't count as much out here in the West!

Anyhow, I hope yall had a lovely Halloween! This is the first Halloween Matt has missed since we had children and Victoria's First Halloween and it was...well, interesting.

Daphne was Little Bo Peep and Victoria was her Sheep! Very clever, I know! I wish I could take credit, however, it was Daphne's idea! She was looking through a catalogue trying to pick out coordinating costumes for our entire family. She kept saying that she and Tori could be hula girls or she and Tori could be Egyptian princesses, or such and such. Then I told her that Victoria would probably be a Lamb since we have a baby lamb costume. Daphne noticed the Little Bo Peep costume, and in voice that gradually escalated in pitch and volume said, "I could be Little Bo Peep and Tori could be my SHEEP!" I have to admit that I was equally as excited about the idea. They looked so darling. It only would have been better if Tori had been old enough to toddle around next to her!

Isaac wanted to be Anakin Skywalker. He likes to be any character that has a weapon. We went with Podracer Anakin from Episode one and he looked pretty great!

We went to a Family Halloween party on Saturday, our Church's Trunk or Treat on Tuesday, and did Trick or Treating on Friday. It was a challenge without Matt, but I think the kids had a lot of fun!

I really wanted to get a picture of all of us in our Halloween shirts, but I had no camera man while all the girls were together, so this is the best I could do. Victoria was not very interested in being photographed.

Here are Daphne and I in my classroom Halloween morning!
