The Redwood Forest

Day Two in Cali involved a drive up North to see the Redwood Forest!!

In Daphne's First Grade Music class, she learned "This Land is Your Land". Daphne spent a great deal of time singing that song around the house this year. So, when we told her we were going to see the Redwood Forest, she was very excited!!
On the way in, we stopped to see how wide our wingspans are!

Right when we walked in to the Forest, we happened to see a deer wandering around! So beautiful.

Matt took several panoramic shots to give you an idea of how magestically tall these trees are:

The kids and I are looking up...

Incredible!

Shortly after we walked in, Tori found this stick. Clearly, this stick could have been on the ground in any old place, but in the Redwood forest, THIS was the most interesting thing for the *almost* three year old.

I think that the people on the path are even more beautiful than the massive trees.

So... one of Tori's favorite things to do these days is classify people. Good Guys vs. Bad Guys. Cousins or Friends, and her very favorite, Boy or Girl? She loves to identify people's "parts" and then tell them what they are! For example, "Daddy has a _______, so he's a boy."

So. Guess what she had to say about this tree?

We tried this pic a couple times and gor shuteye both tries

Ummmm.... Excuse me. I ordered the LARGE tree?!

So... on this trip, Isaac learned how to take pics for us!

We stopped for a while to watch a butterfly... the kids were so in awe of the whole park. It was truly awe-inspiring.

My little woodland creatures!

We had a few little science lessons on tree age:

We have been so blessed to see so much of the Earth... to have been able to witness first-hand so many instances of His magnificent creations. We are humbled and grateful to think of the awesome beauty of His Earth. We loved it so much!

One of God's best creations, in my opinion, is Daphne Faith's imagination. On the way out of the park, Daphne said, " Mommy, I'm a little disappointed. It's not exactly how I imagined it."

"Well, what did you imagine?"

Daphne:

"Well, I don't know... bigger trees."

Well, you know what, Daphne Faith? God loves you and He has a big plan for you!! One so great it will astonish even your imagination. Even if the Redwoods couldn't do it! We love you!
