Walking in a Winter Wonderland

We have actually had a very mild winter so far, which has been heartening for me. We had one decent snow in early October, for which no one was prepared, so there were no snow men or pictures. Then we had a very mild, lovely couple of months without so much as a snowflake. Well, winter came charging in this past weekend. We got a pretty good snow on Saturday, but on Sunday we got at least another foot of snow! Matt took the kids out so they could help "shovel" the snow off the driveway. I got them the cutest little kids' shovels so that they could "help". Of course, the children's shovel was too small for my enormous son, so he just used the extra shovel. Daphne shoveled about 2 scoops and then decided to be a snow princess instead and needed Daddy to build her a snow throne:

Isaac worked really hard to help and he and Matt started building a snow ramp off to the side of our driveway so that Isaac can practice snowboarding. You can see the beginnings of the ramp there behind Isaac!

Then of course, what snow day is complete without burying at least one child in the snow? Matt likes to pile all the snow up around the mailbox and create a little snow house for our mail box. Daphne decided that she wanted to live in the snow house, too.
