Field Trip

On Tuesday, I went with Isaac on his first grade field trip to the Ogden Nature Center,
and we had a great time! This was the perfect field trip for a seven year old boy: lots of slime and pond scum and reptiles and predatory birds, etc...

They split the kids into partners and gave each group nets so they could catch some "science" in the pond. Isaac loved this part! Here he and his partner are (note the height difference) figuring out what types of life they caught.

I wanted to take his picture just as we were going in- you can see how anxious he is to get on with it- He's practically on his tiptoes ready to run!

They had a bald eagle, which was very exciting- that is their school's mascot and Isaac loves eagles.

Here we are together! I'm so glad I was able to go with him, even though my nature skills are pretty limited, I really enjoyed the experience and watching his fascination! I guess I survived the smell and mosquito bites well enough!
