Christmas Countdown- Day 1

So, even though I am ridculously behind on posting... I want to write about our Christmas Countdown. We LOVE Christmas! It is really important to me, however, that we make this season a time to celebrate the birth of our Savior and not a materialistic festival of "getting". So, I tried to plan an activity for each day leading up to Christmas. Sometimes, our days are super simple, and some days it is pretty exciting! But every day includes a scripture and a song and a little Christmas Cheer!
Day 1: O Come All Ye Faithful Our first day, December 1st, we basically used to introduce the concept of the Christmas Count down to the kids and worked together to make our chain (seen above).

We also ended the night with ice cream and hot fudge, which definitely rallied the troops!

Our song for tonight was O Come All Ye Faithful and our scripture was Matthew 1:18:

"Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost."
