On Friday, the 23rd, we all got hair cuts. Well, not Matt because... well that'd be silly. But of course, late that afternoon, the girls were playing Hair Salon. So... it started out ilke this:
And since, according to Vygotsky, children learn best through play that imitates their own relevant life experiences, I was all about encouraging this game. But apparently, I was a step or two behind... because Matt was in the chair first!
Since he didn't offer much natural substance to work with, they helped him along a little:
All week long, Daphne begged me to do something fancy with her hair. We are right in the middle of letting her bangs grow out, so it gets a little tricky. My fabulous friend, Tiffany, came over on Christmas Eve and did this to Daphne's hair!
Isn't it gorgeous?! Tiff is amazing. Daphne was so sad when we had to take it out the next day. But pretty soon we were laughing because when we took it out, she looked like this:
