Christmas Countdown, Day 7

December 7th: The Stable!


Tonight we read this book: I love this book! It is perfect for young children, but the illustrations are engaging enough to keep school aged children interested as well.

Tori's really listening intently, huh?

So, then we decided to make a stable out of a shoe box! Matt was my helper for this one-- I so appreciated him doing the crafty work. He had hurt his back very badly cleaning up after the wicked wind storm we had the week before. He was in quite a bit of pain but was a real trooper!

Our song for tonight was: The Nativity Song. The words of which include, "This is the stable, shelter so bare. Cattle and oxen first welcomed Him there...." Such a sweet song!

Our scripture for this night was Luke 2:6-7:

"And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."
