Five Years Ago...

Five Years Ago today, I almost gave birth on the bathroom floor. Then I screamed through a ride in the ambulance to the hospital and, seven minutes later, delivered Daphne Faith Hunter. It was one of the most dramatic scenes of my life (with the possible exception of my recent weekend in Paris! J/K) Her delivery should have been my first clue. Daphne is every bit as dramatic as the circumstances of her birth. She is passionate, demanding, powerful, brilliant, clever, observant, intuitive and beautiful. Today she told Isaac that he could not play with any boy toys, only girly ones because it is her birthday. But she also said, "Mommy, Thank you for my perfect birthday." Although she is challenging almost every minute of every day, she could not possibly be more loved. I cannot imagine our lives without her amazing spirit. The Lord knew we needed this child in our family and I am grateful for His trust and providence. Daphne is well... unique. She is sun and rain; fire and ice. We adore her and could not imagine our family without her! We love you, Daphne. We celebrate your life this day!

WHAT???? Daphne is 5??? You have got to be kidding me!!! I can hardly believe that! She will always be a 2 year old in my mind because that's how old she was when I was in your class. HOLY MOLEY! I can hardly believe that Daphne is really 5! That means she'll be going to kindergarten. WOW! Well Happy Birthday Daphne! From, Teacher Tami!
